Odin 7-day game jam: Tower Defence

Looking at making a tower defence game to fullfil the theme: Pathways

The full idea was a Tower Defence, Roguelike Deck-builder. I don't know if this would be achievable within the 7 days as I have a lot of other things on though.

HOW TO SCOPE DOWN:

  • Reduce number of enemies
  • Reduce number of towers
  • No deck-builder, still need to select towers that now have a cost
  • No roguelike elements
  • Very simple graphics for towers
  • Very simple graphics for enemies
  • No level mechanics

CURRENT MAJOR PROBLEMS:

  • No music

CURRENT PRIORITIES:

  • Show current wave out of number of waves
  • Player failure (check if this is implemented)
  • Player health visualization
  • Tower range visualization
  • Enemy health visualization
  • Level 1
    • Change level layout?
    • Define waves
  • Enemy Graphics

  • Environment Graphics
  • Change to render generated graphics for environment, enemies and towers
  • Sounds

  • Ensure web build works

  • Instant damage towers (instantly hit enemy, no projectile travel)
  • DOT towers (apply effect to enemy)
  • Bomb towers (shoot at location)
  • AOE towers (buffing/debuffing)

LATER:

  • Support multiple paths for a level

  • Enemy paths are wider allowing enemies to spread more and reduce stacking
